My question is regarding a Flame hawk. I've had them in the past and they did not seem aggressive at all but do you think I can add one to my mix of fairies in a 90g tank? [/B]

I removed mine, anytime my Solar would go near his perching area he would immediately chase it away and as soon as I started to see some fin damage I decided to remove the hawk.

I have a pair of bimacs with a rubrimarginatus. there is no agression, in fact they don't even acknowledge each other. In about a month I will be moving them into a tank with 7 fairy wrasses so hopefully the behavior stays the same.

Stunning !!!
How large is your tank ? I never had much success mixing Fairies did you add them at the same time ?

I have had no problems mixing fairy and flasher wrasse species. If there is a similarity in size and coloration there can be temporary mild aggression but so far I have seen nothing severe. At this point I have mixed four different species, each of which is a male and at least one female.

I will produce pictures when I can.

snorvich how large is your tank ? I know in my 93 gallon it was definitely a problem and the only one I keep now is a Red-Margin Wrasse :(

The tank that I was referring to is 200 gallons and it is virtually all fairy wrasses (11 fishes). In my 320 gallon, I have three single males who do not interact at all.

today was supposed to be a good day. I just got a new pair of Cirrhilabrus rubrisquamis and a pair of Cirrhilabrus scottorums. Only it could have been much better. The order originally came with a nice radiant wrasse.

So here I was drip acclimating the five new fish in a five gallon bucket for about half an hour. I also propped up the canopy in preparation for the new fish. Here's where I made my mistake.....The bucket got pretty full, so I went into the bathroom to poor some water out into the toilet. Guess what??? Ya, you guessed it....lucky for me, it was only the radiant wrasse who leaped into the toilet and got flushed from all the water filling up in there.

OK, so I'm a little upset that I made a dumb mistake. Oh well. I move on... So I take the bucket over to the tank to get ready to put my new fish in. I look on top of the tank on the center brace and I find my Golden Rhomboidalis frying on the center brace. He must have been able to jump on there after I raised the canapy!!

Ok. So now this really sucks cause I was about to order another one from Brian. The wife definately won't let me get another pair. :(

That's an expensive fish dinner.

Seriously sorry for the loss. I would just cry if I lost such an awesome fish.:sad1:

t0mmy108: wow.. that's just stinky.. I'm sure you'll bounce back from this.. :)

cheeks69: I have a 75g.. way too many fishes but was going to upgrade but instead in the process of breaking down the tank.. never had any issues with them fighting to death.. just periodical squabble.. mostly territorial...

yeah, before I added these guys together, I have read quite a bit... good advice and observation snorvich.. can't wait to see pics of your tank with those beautiful wrasses..

I got a scotts aussie Wrasse from Live aquira today and it was suppose to be a medium but came in as a large. 5 - 6 inches.

I'll take some pics later on.

Man tommy that stinks. I just lost my new lineatus. He somehow jumped through my covering. What's worse is I heard him tumble down the back. I looked but didn't see anything. As we were late for our Mother's day brunch we left. When we got home my wife asked where is the lineatus? Found him finally in the darkest corner behind the tank under several wires.
