Hi,
Im having experiences with fairy wrasses, especially from Vanuatu who're starting to breath rapidly ,days to weeks after arrival, at the same time stop eating and a couple of days later die.

Anybody experienced that?

Any possible cause?

Cheers.

Try a FW dip to see if they have flukes. They will show up as small jelly like things in the bottom of the container. If so Prazipro works great. Copper doesn't have any affect on them.

Large_Angels, no ick or velvet.

Re the copper, I actually find them sensetive to copper and use very low levels if at all.

Fish are clean, eating doing well, then rapid breathing for 1-2 days and destroyed, fish stay completely clean ,usualy happens with C.bathiphyllus , but maybe cause it is the most popular wrasse out of there, saw it also happening with C.lineatus from Oz.

No, I didnt, but also didnt see this happening to any new fish arriving from Vanuatu.
I guess next time I'll see it I'll have to check i with a microscope.
