False Percula & Hammerhead

I would have spent money instead on a book that says hammers arent a natural host for clowns...LOL..But seriously, they arent. They can host whatever they want if they want to. Good luck.

I will assume the poster knows that they don't naturally host hammers. :)

I don't know if it will work for the hammers, but for many putting up pictures of clowns hosting helps encourage clowns to host anemones. Also the process will take some time. And if it wasn't obvious, you must face the pictures toward the inside of the tank. And that tray on your computer is for CDs not your cup. :)

Don't be disappointed about the hammer, they are great looking in their own right.

When I first saw the title of the thread I thought you were keeping clownfish with sharks.

I knew already that hammers were not natural hosts for clownfish but I was just too used to seeing pictures of clownfish in hammerheads. I've tried the picture thing already but I got annoyed and threw it away after 3 days because it didn't work.
LOL, no it's not a hammerhead shark.

While I have seen clowns hosting in hammers and froggies at my LFS, I have also learned that clowns will host what they want where they want and when they want.
I've got an h. crispa and two RBTA's and my clowns won't host anything but the overflows and water returns. For months I have asked them very nicely to go into the nems, I have begged, I have cursed, I have pleaded and cajoled, and they still won't go in there.

My Tomato hosted my Hammer Coral no problem. But she only did that until I added an anemone.:D

I have since added two Clarkiis and got rid of the Tomato because she was too bossy so now the Clarkiis have the Bluecarpet and Sebae all to themselves.:)

The hammer has no clownfish.

Here is some old pics of when I had my tomato clown hosting my hammer:

Place a small flower pot near your hammer, clown fish love flower pots and in time your clown may move into your hammer-if not simply remove the "host pot" -just an idea

What can I do to make it more likely for them to go in?

Well at the time, that was the only thing that appealed to my Tomato to host. So she decided to host my Hammer. Thats my only explanation.
