Some colony pics as my color is starting to recover very nicely from the 84 TDS top off water debacle a couple months ago.

Unnamed - its hard to see in pics but there are even more colors on this coral than green and red.

FT Blue Lemonade -nice shimmery Pearlberry like color on growing tips and has nice blue polyps that are getting bluer again by the day.

Unnamed - hard to see in pics too but kind of getting a metallic pink/purple color with green polyps (when the angels let it polyp out at least)

CR Electric Miyagi - sooo bright!

AquaSD Rainbow mille - classic... Looks good in any condition

Vivid Confetti getting a nice pink overall and almost a reddish color on the base

FT purple efflo - can't beat the efflo growth form, so unique.. Add to it a purple base and green polyps... Got ourselves a winner!

CC Heaven and Hell - often debated piece... As the original vendor pic was crazy... And maybe a hair oversaturated... And everyone has been trying to chase that look since. I don't think its attainable but what it is currently is still pretty nice to me. Better if my angels would allow the polyps to dance in the current but that might have to wait until it gets larger and has more branches to keep those angels at bay.

At what Par level do you keep your "CR Electric Miyagi" at? I have the same frag which has really grown, but I'm not getting the same vivid coloration as you. Mine is at around 270 par. Assuming your using a blue water filter when taking pics? Any post processing in saturation levels with your photos?

Hi there Jhammond, mine is about the same par under T5s with actinic bars. I would say my spectrum is about a 14k look. Mostly white with a hint of blue.

Those are my normal white shots of the coral, top down though, so it shows the best side. No gel filter and I match color to my eyes as best as I can but try not to go nuts on saturation.

Its been a month and a half since I started the lighting experiment with anemones (removing them from frag tank under LEDs and putting them in the display tank under T5s).

Here's what I've observed so far:

1) All Infernos have grown tremendously (top box) and have strong bubbling. They are all super bright... Not sure if it captures in the pics but bright bright green oral disc and reddish-orange tentacles.
2) Infernos still maintain a bright green oral disc, tips are still yellow/green
3) Reefwise Lemondrop (middle box) has lost some of its purple oral disc and has gone from a bright yellow color with some green to a yellowish/goldish color. It has grown tremendously in size as well.
4) All CSBs have grown as well but not as quick as the other two types of anemones. They have all turned very reddish/orange and yellow tips. They kind of have that spotted look like a CC supernova on their tentacles. A majority of the green oral disc they had under my LEDs has lessened in intensity, which I consider a good thing.

Finally got a good shot of the VividAquariums Confetti with my 55mm-200mm zoom lens and a 12mm extension tube. I uploaded the original with a laptop too instead of tapatalk. What a difference just changing those things.

You can now see the green growing edge I couldn't ever show before and the kind of aqua coloration in the deeper portions of the colony.

That coral is awesome! How long has it taken to grow it to that size?

Thanks! Took about a 10 months if I can remember correctly.

What i started with:

That's some decent growth in that time frame. Do you have any other "vivid aquarium" frags? His corals are legit and have always wondered how well they hold their colors in other people's system. Also how they look with less blue lights.

Thanks!

Other than his OG Rainbow Delight, I don't have any others. I really don't trust his photos... They seem a bit juiced to be honest and the only reason I picked up the confetti was because my buddy was standing in his store and said... You have to get this piece.

I'm not an overly blue light guy so half the new stuff out these days I look at with a bit of skepticism. Photo tricks and tons of actinics makes me weary of online purchases sometimes.

I don't trust his pics either. His pics alone is what deters me from buying. I have never seen a coral "shine", even in all blue like he makes them look. I think he's sell more if he toned down the pics a tad.

Yeah, his pics belong in an art gallery... Not a for sale site in my opinion. They are gorgeous but no way real. When the background is all blacked out... I walk away. There's a lot you'll fool in this hobby these days... But not this guy. [emoji23]

Second those sentiments. His fall into the category of "œcool but I've never seen someone else pull those colors from those specimens" category which usually means excessive editing. Battlecorals and boom corals representative pictures are far more realistic. Vivids just look too unreal. Excessively Boosting saturation is a look that is fairly unmistakable

Glad I'm not the only one picking up on that. I'll buy from Boom and Battlecorals any day.
