Fast swimming clowns

I have a pair of ORA Picasso's that have me concerned. That seem to be swimming in place rapidly , more so since yesterday. The only thing different - I placed a hydor volcano in their tank. I had to shift some of the substrate around and in doing so I had inadvertantly lost both of my purple firefish and my tasseled filefish. Then When I got home from work, I found my semi B picasso dead as well. The mandarin fish is thriving and going strong. Is there something I am missing here for them. I really do not want to loose these fish....

when you messed with the sand you might have released gases into the water that asfixiated your fish. Im sure thats not the right spelling.

Your sand bad breaks down detrius and food and make it into gases that slowly get released into your water. When you move alot of sand like that it can cause a mass amount of i beleive maybe nitrogen or something that can choke out fish if you dont do a water change.

I did it with a pair of GBR clowns on a tank move. Lost the male.
