Fastest growing SPS...in your experience

Can you post a pic? That would an impressive coral to see!

I had a recent need to move a 75 gallon coral growout tank full of 65 frags and mini colonies. So hands are full with that. But sometime in the next few days I will try to get a tape measure into the tank around the thing again. Try and snap a few pics and get one up here.

The thing is getting so massive it's getting the shaded center die off just like I saw while diving in the great barrier reef. Basically you find great big birdsnest groups of coral where the tops are alive but beneath there is about 18 inches to 2 feet of dead coral

The small fish and such hide in these structures of living and dead. I was thinking something was wrong with my coral for it was beginning to do this. But the upper half is growing like a weed so I guess it just goes with the territory on these dense growing corals.

The coral in question is the big pink thing on the right side of the tank.

My pink bird's nest grow annoyingly fast. I only have a 30g tank and I swear I have to trim the bird's nest about every two months. I used to trim it from the outside like you would a bush but it starts to look weird when you see stubby branch ends instead of the pointy tips. Now I take it off the rock, cut the bottom off, and remount it.

Cleveyank - your tank looks great. Looks like you have plenty of corals that grow quickly.

It sounds like a coral of that size adds a unique area to you tank as well since you know have fish that use it for shelter.

Some of those can be pest SPS and grow ridiculously fast. I tend to go for the more slow growers, but will have a birdsnest or two that I trim aggressively.
