My daughter is going to do a her 4th grade science fair project using corals. I need to find some zoas or palys that grow as quickly as possible. She is going to experiment with feeding them to see how much ,if at all, feeding can impact growth rate. Any suggestions? Also, if you can think of any other kind of coral that would work and show obvious growth in 3-6 months let me know.

Thanks in advance

Texas Trash Palys gotta be the fastest I have ever seen. I hate them. HATE. I am not in your area as I just browse by hitting 'new posts' but I know those are going to be faster than pretty much anything I can think of, besides xenia

They look like this, they might be the 'green' ones he ^ is talking about. They do look greenish under diff light.

Get some Pink and Golds from Josh. He's always complaining they grow to fast. I have some ugly zoas that grow really fast too. Button polyps would be a GREAT subject for this experiment, because they do take particulate food (you will see a feeding response), whereas other zoas may not. At least you could confirm it was eating, and would be interesting to photograph and even video for a school project.

Thanks everyone for the input and offers. I think rovster idea of the Button Polyps is great idea due to the visual. Are there any other colors besides green and brown?
