This may sound like a silly question but can reef fishes become overweight? I have a purple tang, pacific blue tang, blue jaw trigger, maroon clown, flame angel and a mandarin goby. They all seem to be pretty beefy. I feed only dry food twice daily.
From what I understand, some definitely can (it is a known issue with lionfish), but folks have noted that tangs and triggers in the wild are not thin; they are almost look like footballs (American version).
I think yes. For examples, my bartletts would get so fat, because I feed heavily for some of the more finicky anthias, that they would look distended... their mouths and gills almost sticking out abnormally. They didn't look at all right that way.
