"Fata" what?

Fata Morgana of course. An optical illusion of sorts that occurs from different layers of air because of a temperature differential. Very wild to see. Makes you think your eyes are playing tricks on you unless you know what you're looking at.

Pretty strange...though the peak is clearly above the layered air.

Nice. I was seeing those exact mountains, probably the same day you were (Saturday the 16th in my case) from Hiland drive out in Eagle River.

They looked pretty neat, I wished I had my camera with me.
