I spent close to 100 bucks and waited in line 4 30 minutes and I was a lil disappointed. 1 tank had zoos and that was all the live coral in all 160,000 gallons they have over 5000 fish and inverts but maybe 50 species and 90 percent of them is common in this hobby s h i t, I own or have owned 75 percent of There stock! the only thing I really injoyed was the hammer heads well and the tanks were amazing. Even most of the help didn't no dic, I schooled 3 employees I mean wow he thought a file fish was a Porky pine puffer. And the million people you must fight around to even look at stuff. GO ON TUESDAYS, that's the slowest day of the week how was your experience? ?

^ haha random.
but I enjoyed sea life, it was only me and my gf so i didnt have to pay that much to see the fishes i see at the lfs =D but it was something new i guess... Will i be back? nope. i was disappointed with their clownfish/anemone display...only one type of clown... and if i remember correctly they were pink skunk clowns...and they tank was so awkward you couldnt really get a good view. Otherwise i liked the set-up and jellyfish tanks...also seahorse tanks were pretty cool.. The main "ocean" they have there is pretty nice with the dinosaur fossils and all. The set-up is supposed to be as if you were in submarine, the fossils and shipwreck looked great! i have pics if anyone is interested and ill shoot you the link to my photobucket acct. *disclaimer they are amateur pics! haha

I too liked the Sea Life exhibit. However, there was not allot of diversity in the tanks and few live corals, most were fake as far as I could tell. The last display in the kids area had allot of clowns. Too many for on tank I would think. However The scale and setup are good of the entire place. I went on Saturday night at 7:00pm....it was dead my boys had the run of the place.

Hope they get some more reef stuff in, however for an Saltwater exhibit in the middle of Arizona...not bad.

Exhibits like this can only help our hobby. I am glad to see something like this in the desert! I have not visited Sea Life yet, but will in the near future.

the monterey bay aquarium was nice the last time I went there. Their theme seemed to be sea dragons and nems. Different tanks of course.

I agree that Sealife could be great for bringing new members and awareness to the hobby, however, it falls short. The most disappointing overall aspect was the lack of marine diversity in the displays. The majority of the tanks were packed with fish and fake rockwork. Live rock, inverts, and coral were nowhere to be found, with the exception of one small corner display. This unnatural effect was highlighted by dead, overcrowded, and aimless fish. The most disappointing sight had to be the seahorses grasping onto a plastic pennywort plant similar to what you would buy at petco! Don't forget the 6 inch wide horseshoe tank that had juvenile triggers and groupers! I'm afraid that people outside the hobby will get a negative impression of how we care for these delicate captive animals. Just know that if we did treat our animals this way importation would have been banned a long time ago. Sealife reduces captive ecosystems to a fish zoo.

I was also disappointed with the Sealife aquairum. It was all show and no substance (amuesment park-ish). Every thing was so fake looking I would have just preferred to see a bunch of fish in a big glass box. All the fake corals and plants just felt wrong.

I would say the exibit was uneducational and not worth the cost. It seems more commercial than anything. I get more out of browsing a good fish shop and not spending a dime.

I will admit it would proably be fun for kids or people who arent in the saltwater hobby.
