Favia/feather duster compatibility

I have a favia frag coming, and after sizing up my tank, I have a nice spot in mind that has no other corals nearby, but there is a large feather duster in the vicinity (not touching now, but likely will as the favia grows). I know favia can have sweeper tentacles, and I am wondering if there is potential for the worm to get stung? Anybody have any experience with this?

I have no experience with Favia but I will give you a bump hopefully someone with experience will comment on this to help you out I have a large feather duster by a torch coral with no problems but not sure on favia sorry I was no help.

Thanks Young. It does help to know about the torch since they have sweepers too, although I am sure the toxins are different between species. I just don't know if they only affect other corals or if they will kill or irritate my duster... Makes sense if the sweepers are used for feeding too?

True but my duster is under my torch and never really shows any signs of distress. It might be a trial by error type deal I mean the duster will normally pull inside the tube if there is something it doesn't like i know that for a fact lol. and the favia might not even see it as a threat since they go after two totally different food sources. In the wild I don't think they decide where they want to be the just grow. I personnally would try and see how it goes but that is me and my opinion take it with a grain of salt.

Yeah, think I will give it a go. I know the dusters will even relocate if they get too ****ed, but I hate to cause needless stress and make him build another tube since his has gotten so big. Guess we'll see!
