I cannot for the life of me, figure out what they were thinking when they called that beautiful Favia Limb of the Sun"
Great pieces, Justin.

question about frags. I got 3 new frags of Favia about a week ago. are you supposed to take them off the frag base then mount them in your tank or leave them on the frag base and mount them in your tank?

Nice pieces everyone.

The only frozen food I feed is PE Mysis and I have no Cyno issues at all. I feed all my fish at least once a day with PE and 2-3 times a day with pellets.

Yea...kinda like Armour of god

With my favia frags is it best to leave them on their frag base or remove them and glue them to rocks or just place in the bare sand?

That is what I am trying to figure out, I didn't see anything that would make me think solar in that pic..
Armor of God???? ?

Matthew: If you think about it's not that much of a stretch. The hard part is the name, not too many folks are familiar with the terminology in reference to the "limb" of the sun. Which is the outter edge, or, limb. Also the colors of the coral coincide with this reference as blue white is the hottest point of a flame, and the cooler outter area will appear orange to red. Actinics help emphasize this as well

good answer... I had never heard that usage of limb before. I would think the scientific term for that would be corona? Is there a difference? Sounds like a sweat term astronomy peeps would use.

Bluenassarius: That is an exceptional green Favia there..

Justin: Maybe, still don't see it all that clearly. Maybe it has a slight flame look to it. But then I suppose we'll see sunspot Favia before too long! LOL
