I enjoy both favias and acans....almost as much as my Goldfalke angel....:eek2: So know I am in the process of setting up seconday tank that will be my acan and favias only....hopefully will be done in couple of weeks. Just wish the LFS here could get in some of these amazing morphs......

the soul searcher is a nice peice great score. nothing like a good aussie favia.

maximus. favia's the new acan's. hmm i just think they were swept under the rug with the hype of all of the aussie acan craze. regardless i do like the favias over the acans as a whole. but honestly i have some many acans compaired to my favias. trying to find a good favia is much harder then a nice acan as well.
maybee there is just a few of us favia holics out there. i will say both threads have spilt but this one will not die. i should post on the acan thread but this one takes all of my time already:rollface:

Maximus re: Think theres alot more color combinations with acanthastrea giving me a tender spot for their affections, but Ian's right in the regard to more physical differences and diversity with faviids making them a real close competitor for attention

I'm going to try AGAIN to get some decent pics of my (now) 3 Favia colonies. My new one is chocolate brown with mint centers. No kidding. I know the colors aren't rare in Favia, but the contrast in this one is superb. I hope it keeps it. The centers practically glow, even with ALL aquarium lights off.

Personally, I like Favids over Acans because you can get better deals on Favids ( usually anyway).

But on a lighter note, my frags came in from AC this morning. All I can say is "OH MAN!" flippen sweet!! These guys are a real attribute to the hobby, if you havent yet, go check em out!

this is about 2 months after I got it........it was way faded......I didn't think it would ever look as good as it does now!
and under normal lighting:
This is supposedly a dragon soul frag with lineage
that's an old picture though. It has 3 polyps now and the polyps seem to be bigger than my prism......
