Mark too funny. Your a natural even with a borrowed camera. CFM in houston will be fun. i think i will come out early to hang out and cause trouble=).
Kev, glad you like. This was a peace that I found at Jendub dot com while back and finally convinced them to sell it to me. After weeks of begging and inquiring I was hung upside downlast night for every last bit of money to fall out of my pocket for this. A beautiful austrailian favia like no other that i have seen yet. Thanks so much charles and jen for the awesome peice. From what it sounds like they had this for months. A sexy lil hidden treasure now on the favia cat walk.

ok here is one of the better shots i came up with.

Rich, that has to be one of the sexiest Favia's I have seen since the BB! It even has the color scheme of my favorite college football team! Florida Gators! (blue & orange) Put me in line for a frag of that beauty once she grows out! Yahhhh Whoooo!!

Do you mean the Dallas Coral Farmers Market in November? It'll be great to catch up again. Are you bringing Sharkbait?

Definitely a nice coral, and it does look like an acan. How much money could you really have in those pockets of yours anyway. With electricity what it is in California, I doubt you had much left over for coral shopping.

Here is an updated pic of one I got and posted a few weeks back.

It was all two tone purple with green eyes but is getting better everyday.

I will be picking up one or two more tomorrow a war coral look alike and maybe a reverse prism.

Gotta get picks of that war coral up! :p

Nugs funny you mentioned that. I believe it was id as an acan when it came in. but it is a very debateable peice. i am glad that this is not an sps peice cuze that would start a debate for weeks. i thought at fist it may be a monistrada(spelling needed) but the ridges on the coralites make me think otherwise. who knows. honestly i dont think it is an acan due to the feeder tenicles and such but here is another picture to get a debate going. lol..

mark. yes dallas oops the other big city in texas. sharkbait. need to look into the extra cost of that one. i can not leave my kida at home for too long. eletricity is out of control here but likely riverside has its own utilitie company. so it helps. and yes i am poor just have few nice corals to show for.

kev thanks for the compliment on the comparison of the baby breath but not for the florida gators. lol.

That's definitely a very interesting and outstanding piece. Rare to see both blue and orange colors on the same coral. I can see why nUgZ thinks it's an Acan. Without seeing it in person, I can't say one way or the other. So Richard, when are you going to put it in my tank?

 Favican  good one Kenny!

Although I am by no means an expert on identifying corals, I am not ready to give up and say it's an Acanthastrea. I looked at the aims coral website and there are plenty of Favia listed that could easily pass as Acanthastrea IMHO...I will cross my fingers and trust Richards judegement since he can study it better than us at the present moment, and still say it's a Favia... I would like to get a frag and study it up close myself someday very soon though (hint, hint) :)

Yowza! But it its not an Acan, I think its a Favites. Hard to really tell. I love that color scheme. However, Kev, my team of purple & gold is #1 college team in the US! LOL.
Let the debate begin!

Uh oh, I met IF ITS NOT.. Minor typo, but completely changed the message.
Maybe an Acan, but we've seen Favids that resemble Acans before. And vice versa..
