In my experience the Baby's Breath has reached full color potential in moderate light under 20K. Try leaving it in the spot you just put it in, also feed it, they will eat, & watch it color up right before your eyes Maximus!

I just got this one end of last week....Want to see what happens mow that it is closer to and in more intense light then the LFS....Sweet price too.

Fish n' Frags: That is a really nice purple. I love the contrast.
Maximus: So you are thinking it really needs MORE light? Hmm.

Matthew
PS. My orange one turned brown, now its turning lavender! Yes, I have pics, now If I can only get them up here!

It does seem counterintuitive. The baby's breath has been shaded for the past 2-3 months and it lightened up. It wasn't getting any darker so I moved it into the lights. Hopefully, it will darken.

Mine is under 250 watt 20K MH and is really bright. Lime green splashing is crazy bright for me. Light is about 12" off the water, and water is about 8" deep. Hope that helps. My aussie goniastrea seem to all like a bit more light than my aussie favia.

Kev: OK, no commentary on that? What's up, another on your wish list? LOL
Maximus: Well, I certainly wish you well. This being my all time fave in Favia. Though these blues & purples are begining to give the BB a run for its money..

Matt, no it's actually one I own :) I was doing a wc yesterday and couldn't resist snapping a picture of it...I think I'm gonna call it "Lime in the Sky Favia"

Kev, very nice. I have one that looks really similar. Aquatic collection calls it the green mist favia or something.

I have the babys breath under different levels of lighting in my tank. I run a 150 de 20k. I had one on 16 inches under the light, one 10 inches, and another 6 inches. All three pieces were healthy under all of those lighting conditions, they all just had different colors. One guy asked me where I liked it the best. I couldn't say, because I actually like all 3 of them. It just depends which coloration you'd like to achieve.

Good to know. I think I'll leave it out in the open for now.

I agree with Darrell, the BB does seem to do well under moderate lighting conditions. I have mine about 18" out in the open under 150 watt de 20K's as well & the coloration is pretty similar to what Matt Juner shows on his website.

Just picked up a piece like the top one. What light do you have it under to bring out the purple?

Craiglander: That is AWESOME. Nice frag & nice shot!
Kev: OK, Green mist? Looks blue to these tired eyes.. Well, the centers anyway.

Matt, I definitely like "Lime in the Sky Favia" better even though we have a "lime in the sky staghorn" already but it's dead on accurate :)
