The favia I got started to slime, perhasp from touching it? It seems newly fragged.

Hopefully it's alright though.

Sheol: Thanks for the input on my favia ^_^ I like it very much too now that I have it in my tank, Originally, I wasn't going to buy it yet in Memfish but my wife kept on bugging me to get it. Good think I listened lol ...

it should be fine, prolly just a bit upset still...I would just place it in low light with low to med flow right now to get it acclimated to your tank...it should be fine!

Wind: It takes time for new corals to adjust, be patient!
Ian: Holy *beep*!!! Where did you find that looker? You beat Richards SuperModel, too BTW LOL
All Delight: Well, I never had time to read that book!
Kev: New pics loaded onto my Pc, now gotta upload to Photobucket & hope for the best..

Are the polyps supposed to be puffy a bit in the light? I noticed my candy cane shurnken ish a bit during lights off, but when lights come on, they look inflated and good.

Is this the same w/ the favia?

Just a bit antsy about it.

Wind, on a healthy favia colony the polyps will be inflated, that's a sign of it being happy. You just want to pound it with a lot of light & flow, for starters place it low in your tank and overtime you may need to move it to give it more or less light, the coloration will dictate that but in genereal favia do very well in low/med light

Wind: Moderate light levels & mild to moderate currents seem prefered by Favia & Favites. I'll be durned if I know what Platygyra want, als..
Fat polyps indicate you have a happy Favia. Usually, anyway.
Ihav': Yeah, your Wife knew best there! LOL

Hey mate is that last one a Mia's Pot of gold, I have one which has grown amazingly well, now topping 25 heads, it just seems very sensitive to light and mine seams to bleach around the heads easily. I have mine under 20k 250w Radium near the light fall off, whats your position for this Favia?

Yep, that's Mia's Pot of Gold. I have it on the sand bed also under a Radium. It's about 30" from the light and towards the front of the tank. It's been there since I got it. HTH.
