(erroneously) Called PPE Chalice....got it off a well known online auction site :) I think its just a uncommon favia species not a chalice for sure especially the way it hugs the substrate instead of plating out on its own. But it fits the bill for me: weird, colorful and apparently hardy.

Does it grow extremely slooooow for you?

Reefeasy: Wow, that is a quite unique Favites you got there. It belongs on this thread, since we also allow alomost all favids of the Favia mold.
Meisan: Another cool one!

Not sure, but I thought I saw a "Favican" or two up there! LOL
The update is on the harddrive. But since I'm stuck with dial-up currently, I just haven't had the time to upload the newer shots. & Last week's didn't come out. Right now, the reptiles are being featured in my Camera memory.
Where can I get me some popcorn? This show keeps getting better every week!

Darrell, keep that PPE down towards the bottom unless you have low light in your frag tank. Seems to do best under low to med light for me. Took a while to take off for me (4-5 months with no growth), but that THING grows pretty fast when happy. I started with 3.5 polyps about 10 months ago, have about 9 or 10 now, and it has more than doubled in size. It likes to eat too.

same with mine. it didnt grow for about 4-5 months and then took off. beautiful and is one of my favorite pieces.... someone needs to figure out what it is. for all we know is a new coral species.... that would be pretty cool.

I can't get the feeders to come out on them. I guess I should try and move them to lower light. Thanks for the info. Hopefully they'll start growing. I've only had them for a couple of months now...

ianiwane: Could be, looked like a Favites to me, but then I've never seen EVERY species in both genera.
Saltcreep: Love that War coral, what a looker!
Roblack: <jealous.. jealous..> Snarl. Rub it in. Me want! LOL
Where is the popcorn tub?

I am keeping mine in pretty strong light and it seems to be going just fine. Feeding is the key IMO. Mine extends feeders about 10-15' after I put something tasty in the water (and only when its dark).
