Oh my God, how about we name this one "Barcelona FC official favia"? after the spanish soccer team, seriously you can look for reef forums of spain and try to sell them frags for a fortune.

In this case, who doesn´t want to have the colors of his team in his reef?

Plancton: What's in a name? Aside from market value, brand recognition, desirabiluty. Not much! LOL

Those already have a name anyway. The blue and red favites pentagona morphs go by 2 names actually. Fire and Ice War Coral, and Aftermath War Coral, depending on where you look for them. I have seen the blue be from a darker blue like the pic to more of an aqua blue. Varying shades of red also.

Hi Zeppelin! If anyone gets that coral again, I want it. That's one crazy morph. I'd even pay money for it.

Not a colorful favia by any means but I find how puffy it is interesting. I'm beginning to wonder if this is actually a favia, grows really fast too. Sorry for the boring addition, I have better, this is just interesting, to me anyway.

Its pretty cool, Rynon, even if not as colorful as many. i bet its a lot less common than many of the Favia/Favites we have seen here.

Thanks for the compliment on the coral but it's not all that colorful, I do though appreciate the compliment. If I remember correctly I bought it as an assorted Favia (aquacultured) from a wholesaler. I hadn't seen the coral (I work at a LFS) and picked it from a list. I just looked in JEN Vernons Corals of the world and the description and pictures make the ID seem correct. I guess this goes along with the crispa I have from the same wholesaler. Thanks again for the ID and compliment! I'll try and post pictures of more colorful favia tomorrow when I borrow a macro lens.

Put it in lower light and that piece will color up better for you. Low light coral for sure. I love those (oulos)!
