If they are the exact same species it's generally fine, but there many genera & species in the Faviid family that look similar but will not be friendly toward each other.
I've never had any luck putting two next to each other, even ones that look like the same species will decide one night to nuke their neighbor. They are too nice and grow too slow to risk the loss.
