Favourite Tang

Here is my newly acquired little Chevron. He is my favorite Tang but I only have one. I am curious how long it keeps its juvi color.

Achilles are awesome too, but I've had to many friends try and they usually croak. Ich magnets I tell ya, also the PBT, ich magnet.

WOW, this is a gorgeous fish!!!!! I have never seen one before. How much does a chevron tang cost???

Chevron tang changes color as it ages, its not that expensive. look it up on google images for adult coloration. not as nice as when its a juv.

definetly my yellow tang. it eat anything from my hand. she even let me pet her sides from time to time. she got my clown to start eating from my hand as well. very personable fish. my tank is right next to my lazy boy in the living room. when i'm sitting in my chair she will be right next to me as close to the glass as she can get. my wife always says that fish would like to sit in my lap. i think she kind of likes our chihauhau too, b/c everytime my dog sits on the chair she will come down by that end of the tank and watch the dog. my wife thinks the fish is jealous of her, b/c sonny doesn't like her which she doesn't. you tell when my wife is sitting in the lazy boy with me that fish will bump the glass and swim like she is agitated. very strange.

do you think fish can become jealous?

Wow, that may be one of my new favorite, can you give some info.

I have following along, My favorite is the powder blue, but I am afraid to put one in my 90 gallon bc of the size. I really like the mimic tang that color change from juvenile to adult seem like an awesome thing to see happen.

I have mimic waiting for me tomorrow.

I too have a mimic tang coming in from a lfs. I really like the mimic tangs. I also like most of the bristle toothed tangs.

My LFS has one in there 315g, The Mimic is just just a docile Acting Tang. Its constantly picking at algae in the tank, Swimming all around the tank effortlessly!I am ready to have it for sure.Good luck with yours!

Kole tang for me as well. It looks and behaves funny, don't bother other fish, grow slowly and it's not huge when adult like some other tangs. And who can say no to a face like this:)

That is a beautiful photo!Even better looking Kole!

My Hippo Tang!!

True, its very common and affordable.... But they're beautiful and mine will be 10 years old in June, surviving all my noob mistakes

What about the (Acanthurus fowleri) aka Fowleri Tang.

 agreed!

I just bought one of these(5" fowleri) along with a (5")pale lipped tang and they're both awesome! But I do also love the naso's and my 10" vlamingi is by far the most gentle(and the largest) in my tank. Eats right from my fingers.

Okay keep it going I am trying to figure out what I want to replace the sailfin with. As of now here are my favorites that we have in our tank now.

Just weighing in. I'm out of the tang business due to setup changes but my two favorites have always been

Regal Blue (I like that better than "Hippo") My first fish and I had him for over 10 years until he jumped on me. :(

Orange Shoulder had one almost as long as the hippo I recently sent him to a new reef where he can be happy.

RIP Spaz
