Feathduster's and serpent stars...buying

And you have both?

I'm just checking on this. I did read a few threads that did say so. But just want to make sure.

Yes, I have a 10 gallon tank with about 100 mini-feather dusters and I had a Serpeant Star in there for months and didn't notice any problems. That's just my experience.

Were those threads specifically mentioning Serpeant Stars, or could they have been referring to the muscly type stars?

It did specify serpent stars, saw a few threads. Was just trying to search for it in the New to Hobby Forum, can't find it now.

You had a Serpent Star? What happened to it?

the green serpent star is the one that you dont wanna get, they are nasty, they will eat small fish at night.
maybe thats the one they were talking about??

Not so sure now.
Another question, I guess they hide more in the rock which I have plenty of hiding places for it. Do they scavenge or plow/hide in the sand at all? I have alot of these tiny worms in the sand with hairlike tentacles that move around, not sure what they are called.

if you are talking about" the green death" serpent star i just found out that they eat fish but knock on wood i have had 3 of them in my tank for like over a year since there were really small and i had no problems at all and there are big now

I have a red one. Some days he's in the sand, and others , he's in the rocks. He always comes out when I feed the fish. He never ate any dusters. Mike
