feather duster worms breeding

I somehow have been lucky enough to have one of my feather dusters spawn in my tank. It started when my largest one was 'smoking' and the whole tank would be cloudy from it releasing it's sperm or whatever (not much info out there on them breeding!) after a couple days of it smoking, it stopped and everything appeared normal. Until a couple weeks later I have a baby feather duster in my sand right next to the big one! Its def not one of those smaller dusters, its a mini version of my bigger one, color and all. So far its doing great, any one out there have ANY info/care tips for breeding feather dusters or caring for the babies?

Wow, that's something. I've never even heard about them breeding in aquarium. Tagging along, if anyone has a recipe to breed feather dusters I am very interested.

haha I wish I knew the secret! It's just a 10g with a 20g aquaclear and a fluval C2, both filters I keep at a low gph rate unless I am cleaning. I also dose with seachem fuel.

This is one of the bigger ones in my tank and the one that was smoking, the baby is right next to this one. But now there is a problem! all the tips seem to be bitten off and its not as huge as it was. I have another one equal size and it looks normal, all its "dusters" are normal size, I just have a watchman goby, yellowline goby, and a firefish goby in there and I have never seen them nip the duster, but I do suspect something! Cause its def not out as much as it used to be! There WAS this one time where I was feeding and the watchman goby attacked the feather duster tips instead of the food, wondering if he is the one picking at it? I will post a pic later of what it looks like now

ahhh the big 'mother' so to speak feather duster just lost it's crown! was stuck to the filter when I came home today :( maybe they do that after spawning? I target feed 2-3 times a week with brightwell aquatics phytochrom and DT's phytoplankton so I know they are getting enough food. The other feather dusters seem fine! Going to test water....

Any update?

Busy as usual....lol. tested the water and everything was fine, my other large feather duster lost its crown as well, but the baby is still doing well. Everything in my tank is thriving, I want to say that after spawning, feather dusters loose their crown to grow a new one. I have not seen the actual worm come out of the tube and i know they do that when stressed. So one would hope they are regrowing their crowns.

Awesome update!

I couldn't believe it! It has only been a couple weeks since it lost its crown. I am expecting the other one to start popping up later next week.

But this is a HUGE step for me!
