feather duster

I just found the whole cap to my feather duster on the bottom of the tank. Is it dead? Thanks

No it isn't. It shouldn't be, that is. Sometimes Feather Dusters will pop off their crowns and they'll regrow them.

Not sure if you can take it our or not? If you can smell it, if it stinks of dead fish it is dead if not no worries it will grown a new feathers... I had severl one of mine would drop it feathers every other month or 3... Oh ya if it smell dead toss it..
