Feather Dusters

I know that feather dusters are filter feaders, but is there anything in paricular that would cause them to spread like crazy? I have em all over my tank. I don't care much because I think thier kinda neat. Just wondering why they are spreading everywhere.

I get a similar issue in my sump but not in my main tank so lack of predators and nutrient sufficient waters for them to feed off is probably the reason for the spread.

This is usually the last phase of a healthy cycling tank. If there continue to be enough nutrients in the water column, they will stay, but the rapid proliferation will slow down considerably.

I had a similar experience. As my tank got cleaner my feather dusters began to die off one by one.
Then after I stopped skimming a month or so ago, I have noticed a few of them coming back.
