Possible February Meeting idea!!

As it appears that no one has signed up for the February meeting at this time. I would like to throw out a potential idea for consideration.

The Pink Palace museun IMAX theatre is showing the Oscar nominated IMAX documentary "The Living Sea" which has underwatrer film shot all over the world including manyn of the locations that our fish and corals come from including the Red Sea, Palau and Hawaii among others. Show time would be at 3 pm which is earlier thatn most of our meetings.

I have not personally seen it but hear from others that have that it is a beautiful film and that IMAX is the way to see this.

We could make reservations for any of the Saturday showings in February, 14th 21st or 28th however 14th is Valentines day and might not be a good choice.

We can get a group discount at 6.50 for adults and 5.75 for children if we have 15 or more and can possibly get a meeting room. Or we could possibly hold a short meeting at someones home or restaurant near by afterward.

i rented it from netflix, it was ok i wouldnt spend the money to go see it in the theater, but thats just my opinion it explores a little bit of everything in the ocean, but other members mite be interested in it so ill say its a good idea

I saw it at the I MAX at The Aquarium of the Americas in New Orleans. It was pretty good and in 3D, but not something I would make a special trip to the big city for.

I like it! I've seen parts of it in HD on the Discovery Channel and it looks amazing.

Sounds like a nice bit of variety for a meeting.

Maybe we could get a meeting room there to still have a meeting before the show. People that want to watch the IMAX can do that and the ones that don't can stay in the meeting room and talk reef. Just an idea to bounce around.

It would be a 3 o'clock on Feb. 21st and I will check into us getting a meeting room for either before or after the meeting.
We will need at least 15 in advance so if you are intersted let me know and we will start a list.
