Working With Acrylic

What a better way to treat a fellow member who may be going to the FFM than with a brand new 24x24 acrylic frag tank?!

We will also be building a few viewing boxes as well for those of you not interested in sneaking another tank into house while your better half isn't looking :lmao:

Bob Winfrey will be hosting this meeting at Wildwood Christian School in Norwich and Emery Messier will be showing us how to work with acrylic.

After the demonstration we will be raffling off the tank and viewing boxes!

Only those that are members in good standing can participate in the raffle for the tank!
You must be present to win any of the raffle prizes at the meeting
.

We look forward to seeing everyone at:
Wildwood Christian School
35 Wawecus Hill Road
Norwich, CT 06360
Saturday, February 15th at 1:00pm

Is there any way that I can bring materials to build a box for a sump? Is that possible?

I know how to do the baffles...it's putting together the box about which I am concerned.

kkkk. It's not a huge deal if he says no. I won't be mad or anything. I can probably take what I learn and figure it out another time, if it's going to be a pain.

I highly doubt it will be a problem I just don't want to speak for him

I don't see a problem with it as long as the pieces are already cut to specs. I will be bringing the viewing boxes already precut and fit. I will be using Weld on 3 and 16, 2 different methods of assembly and ways to finish the edges. Bring your project... :)

Il be able to make this meeting. I've had to miss the last two. And this ones only 5 minutes from my house to make it even better

I need to find out about what kind of acrylic to get and where to get it cut. I'll just PM you guys though so I don't take up space on the thread!

love the new avatar Mel!
Thanks! They were giving me a hard time in the lounge about still having my Xmas avatar. SO I bowed down to peer pressure.

Just a quick preview of the DIY project we will be making at the meeting. Not quite sure how many we will be making but it will be between 8 and 12 viewing boxes depending on how many I can get out of the material.

How would one get in on one of these viewing boxes? I would be happy to pay for one as I'm in the market.
