I have been talking to Chad about a topic for next months meeting. And he had a couple ideas. The one that I liked was a discussion on the Alk and calcium relationship this seems to boggle people minds all the time. Given my Chem background and my experience i could give a little insight to the subject but i have done a couple of the talks at the meetings and this on would be difficult to make intresting. So I thought a round table disscusion on the subject would be a great way to get everyones ideas on how they deal with this never ending balance.
Just a side note it was just a little over ten years ago that people even took a serious look at alkalinity and its relationship to reef aquariums. It was all about the Calcium and how high you could get it. When ESV b-ionic 1st came on the market there were alot of skeptics including some well known "experts" that thought it was bunk. Funny how things change but stay the same. I'll bring some old issues of Aquarium frontiers magazine so you guys can check it out.
