Feed moving anemone?!

I know when an anemone is on the move it's best to leave it alone until it finds a good spot.

My RBTA up and decided to move all over the tank for the last 2 days.... It's gone over and under rocks, up the side of the wall, over the jetstream nozzle, now it has half it's foot upside down on the surface of the water...

Should I feed it now?

I've only had this guy for 2 weeks but I was feeding it ever other day about 1/4 of a small raw shrimp every other day. It's always taken the food in rapidly. I was thinking maybe it's moving around trying to find food???

The foot looks very solid, the tentacles are all puffed out very big, its just on the move and I want it to stop!

The water conditions are fine, salinity is 1.025 temperature is a constant 80 degrees, there is no trace of ammonia in the tank which has been running for 3 years stable.

Bummer part about owning nems is that they tend to wander a lot. No rhyme or reason they just move, and sooner or later they will get sucked into a powerhead or something. I had a RBTA that was fine for a year then all of a sudden, he wanted new real estate, sadly he chose the inlet to my closed loop!

Actually, they will move when they aren't happy. Either too much flow, or not enough, too much light or not enough light etc.
My BTA hasn't moved in over a year ( excluding me moving the rock it was on ).

When you say your water is fine, would be nice to know the exact numbers, your fine might be different then other's. What size tank do you have, and what type of lights? Anything change with the tank recently?

No changes with the tank recently.

150 watt 15K Metal Halide bulb
110 watts power compact actinics
30 gallon with 10 gallon sump
Tank has been running for about 3 years without any incident

I only have an ammonia test kit as well as refractometer and thermometer, I don't have kits for nitrate, calcium, etc...I do weekly 5 gallon water changes.

there are no powerheads in the tank...

other corals include:
Mushrooms
Ricordia
Candy Cane
Xenia
Blastos
Zoanthids
Palys

This thing just keeps moving! and the 2 clowns that host it keep following it around... what a headache.

Should I do a water change?!

It never hurts to do a water change.
Would suggest getting some other test kits for the other parms.
Something is making it unhappy, hence the reason it keeps moving.

The only flow you have in your tank is from the return?

Are there any other fish in the tank besides the clowns?

I have 2 returns, and that is the only flow that I have. I have a SCWD that alternates currents between the 2 openings.

No other fish besides the clowns. I do have 4 shrimp:
1 fire shrimp
1 skunk cleaner
2 peppermint shrimp

I will pick up some extra test kits tonight to see if anything is "off"

what else do I need to test for? Nitrite, Nitrate, Phosphate?

I tried feeding it, but it just dropped the food.

Later, I did a 5 gallon water change
30 mintues later, the nem moved away from the side of the tank and back to the rocks, almost near where it first started. I hope it stays there...
