Feed skimmate?

It's full of nutrients?....

What would be the purpose of skimming to begin with?

Wouldn't this be like the hospital switching your IV drip bag for the catheter bag?

I've heard of this before but I agree with kevlow. If I need to feed I'd rather just feed my fish or dose fuel.

Just turn your skimmer oof. Otherwise your just wasting electricity running a skimmer, and dumping the skimmate back into the tank.

I have never heard of this before and I do not think your SPS would be happy with polluting the tank with waste! IMO If you do let us know your results! Chef

A reefer I knew accidentally spilled his entire full skimmate collection cup into his sump and it caused much lps and sps death in his very large tank. At least that's what he attributed his massive, sudden die-off to.

The question answers itself. Why skim at all if your going to put it back into your tank? Makes no sense.

I believe only a trace amount of salt makes it into the skimmate.

The real answer is you should not do it. Skimmate is full of heavy metals and bad things all concentrated.
