feed small clams?

i just got a few small maxima clams,about 1".ive been told before to feed the small guys because they dont photosynthesis as much.is this true?can anyone confirm this?

people generally say to feed until 3", but others say " i've never feed them and ... ". i do and will continue to because i've seen better growth and a happier clam.

They will need a "food" source. For many who have a heavily fed tank with lots of inverts, supplemental feeding is not necessary. But for those who have a very "clean" tank with luittle nitrogenous load, they should cosider supplemental feeding with planktonic food.
