feeding a fuzzy dwarf lionfish

was just wonding what feeding schedule everyone else uses when feeding there's. Mines about 2" long or so and I've been feeding him 1-2 feeder minnows every other day.

Try gutloaded ghost shrimp, or even guppies, which would be preferable to minnows for nutritional reasons. I think the amount you are feeding is about right, but you need to offer a different food.

I bought some mollies and guppies about a week ago trying to get them to breed, sort of a waiting game with them at the moment just wanted to make sure I wasn't over feeding the lionfish. I've been gut loading the minnows with baby brine shrimp that I hatch and flake food.

I've been attempting to ween him onto frozen but have not had any luck. I've only had him about two weeks now but he recently has become inquisitive to the frozen food I offer to my other fish. Thanks for the link I have read it b4 but I will read it again as it is an interesting article. As the article states it is difficult to aquire live marine food stuffs. Other than shrimp what other types of inverts will lionfish feed on?

Keep feeding your fuzzy with frozen (thawed by your tank water) cubes--Once he gets used to it, he will eat anything@ Mine does, usually in one big gulp.

Mine (dwarf zebra) loved formula 2 for some reason.....do lionfish normally ever get veggies in their diet? If i fed the tank the formula 2 he would scurry around the tank trying to get as much as he could...I thought it was strange.

I would get him off the freshwater feeders..My Dwarf Zebra will only eat Mysis..I'm not sure if its the eyes or what but he won't eat anything else. He spits out the frozen Ocean Nutrition foods

I've had mine for a week and a half. Started her on live feeder shrimp...held them at the top of the water and wiggled them...when she came up I dropped them and she gulped them down. Did this for two days until I was positive she'd come when "summoned". Then tried some frozen shrimp (thawed in water) wiggle it at the water surface and she bolted up to me and gulped it down. One day later I put her on Rod's food and she's wolfing it down. Now all I feed is Rod's for my entire tank:D

What are Rods? I also have a dwarf lion that I fed ghost shrimp the first few days and now I'm feeding frozen krill. I've only had it for a week but was wondering if I should start feeding other kinds of food and what kind? I have no source for live marine feeders but was wondering about acclimating a some sort of freshwater/brackish feeder to saltwater and breeding them in a separate tank. What do you think? Should I stick strickly to krill? What is best food for the health of the fish?
