Feeding a tank with zoos

Hey Guys,

Just wondering what you all are feeding/adding to our zoo tanks? I have a mixed SPS and Zoo tank that is very clean SPS is loving it but the zoos are so so, all opening great colour they just don't seem as plump as I have seen them.

I can't help but feel that this is contributed to the stark clean environment.

Thoughts?

There are a multitude of these posts in this forum. Some will say feed some say dont.

I feed Reef Roids to all my corals 1-2 times a week and since I started, I have noticed a big difference in their colors and size. Just turn off the powerheads and target feed with an eyedropper or turkey baster, let em sit for 15-30min and turn it all back on.

I usually just feed rod's reef mix at night for fish. Usually this is enough for all corals to be able to eat also, from the particulate floating.

Besides the good PAR from my 6 bulb ATI PM I target feed fauna Marin zoa food and Coral Frenzy once a week.

My zoas grew very well before I upgraded to my new tank and added GFO and a better skimmer. Now in the new tank they aren't growing much and don't all open all the time. The rest of the corals are doing well.:o

You are not alone! Try to remove the GFO only.
Please leave the skimmer. Skimmer is good for the polyps!
Wait for a month or two. Hopefully they'll come back to normal soon...

I am giving target feeding with oyster eggs a whirl. Have been at it for about 3 weeks, and I think I am getting faster growth - but might be too early to tell...

I'm using a blend for all my corals but I notice my zoas now respond as soon as I target feed.
I use a mix of oyster eggs and tissue. Mystic shrimp, cyclop, and just a tad of brine shrimp. I blend all that together and save what's left over for later in the week.
