feeding acan

I just got this orange (crush?) Either way it's kind of rounded and I can't get it to fully open. I've been trying my mysis/cyclopeeze mix. Any suggestions?

Cut the current off and use a syringe. Oh, it may take more than that if there are alot of mobile tankmates of course!

I syringe feed all of mine with cyclops, i cut the tank off and target feed them. I feed them soacked shrimp pellets as well, my growth rate is very good

So far I've tried all of that. I always target feed with a syringe, with all the powerheads off. The tentacles don't really seem to be coming out at night even with the current off. I always have to target feed my sps after the lights go out or else my achilles and sailfin make a mess out of everything.

you've probably already done this but check your phosphates if there high your LPS dont like to open.

All my lps is open except for this one piece. As are my sps and softies....

Jim i have gotten acans and it has taken a few of them two weeks to fully open and start feeding properly. I have noticed if i dump soaked and crushed shrimp pellets in the tank it drives them crazy and feeding tentacles come out on everything. They seem to love those. Most of the time i syringe feed individually cyclops and oyster eggs, but they do go nuts when shrimp pellets hit the water.

I've been trying to feed it with a small pipette. I find you can control it a lot better then with a syringe. Some of the polyps have responded and are starting to eat. What specifically is "shrimp pellets". Is there a specific brand?

when you prepare the food, let it sit in some tank water and if you have it seclone (i get a great reaction from all my corals when the smell that stuff)

then after its nice and mushy, drain a lil bit of the water the stuff was sitting in into your tank.

the funky smell should excite all the corals to open, before you actually put food in
