how important is it to hand feed the anemone? becausethe first one i had, i fed him, andthen he just got really shriveled up and never got better and died, and i thought it could have been from anything, but the new big bubble tip i got, my maroon clown just took to it, and has been going crazy in it for the past 2 or 3 days, and i havent fed it, but today i woke up and itwas really shrivled up and looking horrible.im going to go to the fish store today, but im just worried there is something not right about my tank for the anemones because everything else is always fine, maybe the metal halide is to much for it where its at? idk

What are your parameters, how long has the tank been setup, how big is the anemone in relation to the clown? The nem needs to be at least 3x the size of the clown/s or you risk the chance of them "loving" it to death. Pictures speak volumes post one if you can of the nem and a FTS for reference to where its location in the tank is. As for the other nem that never recovered I do not think hand feeding was the cause as I hand feed mine every once in a while. Although if you had any type of residue on your hands from lotion, bug spray, soap etc. it could have been from that, but not from simply feeding it from your hands. It probably was either that the food was potentially bad or there was something wrong with it prior to you getting it and was already on the way out.

I dont think it would be the light, let us know what the params are and maybe we can help. What would you feed 'em if you did?
