Feeding anenomes?

I just started with anenomes in my tank which has been up and running for about 5 months. I have three total, 2 I just added. I have tried to put pieces of krill in their tentacles but they do not seem to hold on and eat. I have MH so I know they are getting at least photosynthetic benefit. Any suggestions on feeding and/or do I really need to hand feed? Thanks

sometimes they will eat clam strips or try Silversides. I have a bleached BTA that i'm trying to nurse back to health and it loves the silversides.. just make sure you keep them frozen, cut them to the appropriate size then thaw them in freshwater before giving to the anem

try mysis shrimp my anemones love them. i feed them with a small seringe. but be careful not to blow to hard or the anemone will be scared and not open.

I feed my fish mysis and brine shrimp but do not "hand" feed the anenomes. Thanks for the advice, I will try your tecniques. Thanks again.

green bubble tip, a rose short tenticle, and a pink long tentacle. The green and rose have been moving all aroung, the pink seems to like where it is at. I have a perc that is not hosting any of them. I wanted to get a yellow stripe maroon but am leary due the aggresive nature I hear about.

I feed them silversides, mysis shrimp, and store bought scallop pieces and shrimp. They always gobble it right down. I have to be quick so the tentacles don't stick to my hand...

They should eat if healthy.

I started feeding my BTA pieces of silver sides, but they always seemed ton puke it up in a few days. Now they just get the MH unless they snag a piece of mysis when I feed the tank.

hey guys, its been since ive been back here at reef central. anyways i too have a green bubble tip anemone and its been in my tank for at least 5 months. i have never fed it with anything but just what my maroon percula brings to it which is those store bought small round food ( i forgot what its called). anyways im wondering if thats fine and do i have to feed the anemone everyday? the anemone is not bubbled at the tip everysince i got it but it seems to be doing fine and the tentacles doesnt look like its sticky. i guess overall im just asking if my anemone is healthy? sorry myost if im hijacking your thread.

IMO anemones do not need to be directly spot feed on a regular basis. That is unless you are nursing one back to health. I have had my rose bubble tip for a year and a half, it hasent received a direct feeding in over 4 months and its at least 10" in dia. If your clowns are feeding it, and your lighting is sufficient then regular supplemental feedings are not a necessity, JMO.
