Feeding Anthias while on vacation?

I have a 60 gallon cube, 24x24x24, and would like to get an Anthias but am unsure about getting one because of not being able to feed flake or pellets with a feeder while out of town for a week or more.

Also thought about Bangai cardinals but have the same worry.

I think the OP is assuming that anthias won't eat pellets. I don't think that's necessarily true once they're acclimated, but I don't have much experience.

The cardinal is a different issue. I think they often will only take frozen.

That's the question. Just wondering how people take a break from their tank when their fish won't eat flakes or pellets. What's the maximum amount of days an anthias or cardinal can go?

Can you get any of them to eat flakes or pellets?

I've definitely heard of anthias eating spectrum pellets from auto feeders. Not sure about cardis, but considering my male goes a month without food while he's holding the eggs/fry, I would have thought they should be OK for a week.

I may be a horrible person, but I just let the neighbor kid drop some food in the tank every other day when I was on vacation for 2 weeks. My lyre tail anthias and all other fish were totally fine.

Having a real person drop in every so often is a great idea whenever you're leaving animals alone at home.

I have had both Lyretail and Evansi anthias, and all of them love New Life Spectrum pellets from an autofeeder. They'll even hang out in that corner of the tank.. they've obviously learned where the food comes from!

They also get frozen food, but I'm sure the bulk of what they eat is these pellets several times a day. I wouldn't worry about anthias not eating pellets.
