Feeding BTA help

I had an anemone for about 2 months now and its doing great and i decided to try feeding it for the first time. i cut a shrimp into a very bad rectangle shape, about the size of the mouth or maybe a little under 1/2 an inch, and 4 hours later it spits the whole thing back out with some clear goo. is this normal? is the piece of shrimp too big? should i feed it small pieces of the shrimp? HELP!

Was it raw shrimp or cooked shrimp? I wouldn't say this is "normal", but if it is otherwise healthy I wouldn't be too concerned. Next time try about half of that, and I wouldn't feed anything but fresh seafood. Lots of packaged stuff has presevatives and crap.

I won't say its normal but i've also had mine spit back up food. Just give it some time and try feeding it again in a couple of days

yeah i have heard of this happening because it got to much food and can't digest it all so it spits it back up. Trying to feed less is a good suggestion

thanks for the suggestions and help guys ill feed less but idk if im still gonna feed it the frozen shrimp i defrost, so what do you suggest

Mysis shrimp soaked in selcon, squid, raw shrimp, silverside fish or scallops works for me.
reefusaca - brine shrimp has no nutritional value for anemones even if they are enriched.
ko0ki3z - try mysis shrimp, then slowly work your bta up to larger foods.

I'd start with a few Mysis shrimp...see if it'll eat what you feed your fish (this will be the majority of what it catches on its own, after all) before you start experimenting with special food for it.

You should really feed with "real" food IMO no pellets, like wicked_NaCl_h2o and Slakker have suggested real food start small and work your way up.
