Feeding causes white strands of thread to appear on SPS

Recently started throwing in some golden pearls and freeze dried plankton for my gorgonians and other corals. The gorgonians seem to like the mix and capture a lot of pearls, but the SPS seem to retract their polyps a little, and after a while I see white strands of thread appearing on them.

What are those white strands of thread? Is the food mix harming them? Doesn't look like the usual sliming of SPS.

They are probably retracting their polyps because they are eating. The strands are probably Mesenterial filaments and are part of the digestive system of the coral being expelled....very normal.

Agreed. Some corals do this more than others. It's especially common in Acropora IME. I've got a Favites that does it every time I feed too.
