Feeding Chalices

My watermelon and BGM chalices don't send out feeder tentacles at night. If I were to cut a water bottle in half and try to feed them, would it work?

If so, what would be the best food to feed them?

I feed mine mysis, rods food and cyclopeeze. Mine doesn't put out feeders until the lights go out but if I squirt food on a eye/mouth it opens and takes the food (if one of my fish doesn't eat it first :)). The cut water bottle might help with that ;).

I've tried to spot feed them after lights go out but didn't see any tentacles and the food never stayed by the chalices. I'm thinking if I spot feed them with the water bottle over them, it may work. Did you find spot feeding them to help growth?

I think it does based on my experience but I also feed my corals fairly often. Mine certainly stays pretty fleshy after a feeding of just a couple of mysis.

I'm gonna try the water bottle trick though to keep my melenarus wrasse from licking the plates (i.e., corals). Thanks for the tip :)!

I use Marc Weiss Organics Blackpowder
Just a few moments of putting this into my tank for broadcast feeding the tentacles come right out. I take this to mean that he likes it :-)

i feed mine zooplankton at night. i see all of my corals feeding from it. also, when feeding, you should put in some coral amino acids. it will boost color and growth. :)

I feed mine during the day. Turn off flow, drop food on their mouths and give them time, they will eat it. If anything tries to steal their food then put a bottle over the coral.

I spot feed mine mysis during the day and they take the food well. The water bottle trick works well if something tried to take its food.
