Is it a good idea to place a small(2 1/2 inch) maxima clam that is attached to a small piece of live rock in a container to feed it dt's phyto?
I did this yesterday left the container floating in the tank to keep the temperature stable put enough dt's to give the water a green tint and left it for an hour occasionally blowing the water around with a turkey baster . The water ended up having sump green clumps in it I guess waste the clam produced then I just dumped the water back in the tank the clam looked happy . I never did this before when I used to have clams I would just dump the phyto in the tank . I figure this way you use less phyto the clam gets more phyto and you add less nutrients in the tank.
