For about a year I have been designing an automatic brine shrimp hatchery. I have ran into many bumps and such and I though I had it. But, after reading it appears that brine shrimp need to be enriched. So, my question is, how long should the nauplii stay in the hatcher to be enriched. I have provided a paragraph below on how it works:
My hatchery consists of a mini refrigerator, a hatching area, and two reservoirs. The process starts with decaped brine eggs in a super saturated salt solution are dosed into the hatchery. From there fresh water is pumped in to make a perfect mix of salt mix and water for hatching. 18 hours later an enriching agent is pumped into the hatching unit. Now, I need to know how long this solution needs to sit in order for enrichment. Ideal would be around 24-29.75 hours. From there the hatching water is drained. Fresh water again is pumped into the unit and drained. Finally, saltwater from the display is pumped into the unit and the brine shrimp are flushed into the aquarium.
I know you may have questions on how these processes take place, but I assure you my design in perfect. The only thing that I have not figured out is the enriching time and enriching material. So, if anyone wants to help feel free. Also feel free to ask how everything works, if you must. However, I would prefer to keep the design of my hatching unit a secret for now.
Thank you for your time, Meus.
