Feeding frequency question

I have a 70 gal tank with a damsel, 2 tomato clowns, 2 angels, and blue tang.

I have an auto feeder but no matter where I place it the food floats and goes right to the overflow and down the drain. I am concerned about all that food causing nitrates. I've tried NLS pellets, 2 types flakes and they all float too long and down the drain.

When I get home i feed them different frozen foods, mysis, brine, and Larrys frozen.

If I only feed once a day when I get home, so that I can turn off pumps, is that enough for them?

Thanks for advice

1. Get a ring made out of acrylic or plastic and place it underneath the feeder. That way the food doesn't float away, sinks, or the fish know to come and get it there. I got mine from Petco, but don't have a link.
2. Get that Blue Tang out, that tank is way too small for it.

Lots of people feed once daily. From your stock list i dont see any fish that would "require" multiple feedings per day, although i personally believe in feeding smaller portions multiple times per day is benefitial.

Another option would be to rig something up on your overflow to prevent so much food from getting in. This is easier with certain types of overflow.

With the NLS pellets, if you have them pinched in your fingers, put them below the surface of the water and then let go. They sink immediately. I know you can't do that with an auto feeder, but that's what I have to do to keep them from getting sucked up.
