Feeding Garlic To Be Proactive

Should you dip food in garlic extract or feedfresh minced garlic to be proactive towards ich? Basically should you feed garlic all the time?

FWIW, I just gave my yellow tang 7 days of garlic treated food and it went from having white spots to zero white spots. You'll hear similar claims all over.
