I'm planning on building a vacation-style feeder this weekend. I thought I'd share my ideas for getting the water flow and see what people think.
Option 1: Put an Aqualifter on a shelf just above my tank and have it draw a constant stream from my overflow and into the funnel.
Pros: Relatively easy. I have a spare Aqualifter and adding a shelf is no big deal.
Cons: Ugly (I don't have a canopy so it would just be sitting out in the open) and it's one more dedicated device to have to deal with.
Option 2: Add a T on my main return line, reduce it to a 1/4" line with an inline valve, and run that line to the funnel.
Pros: Clean look from the DT side of things, very adjustable.
Cons: Not super excited about redoing my return line.
Any thoughts either way?
