Feeding in Large Tank

Hey guys, so everyone is doing great still. I have yet to get my eibli angle to eat any prepared foods. He picks at rocks all day though and is acting healthy and happy. Any ideas to get him to eat? I am trying flake, nori, frozen brine, spinach, and my homemade food. I wouldn't worry if I didn't want to introduce zoas in the next couple weeks and don't want him to get hurt or hurt the zoas by picking at them.

Yeah I was just thinking that but I will have to order some because i don't think my LFS has any. He has done nothing but nip at rock for three days now. I am going to LFS tomorrow I will ask what they were feeding and maybe take him back in. I don't want to because I love his personality.

I have not tried Omega one or Mysis. I will try and get both after work and give it another couple days with those. Is it possible to just mash up a clove of fresh garlic and rub that on nori? I see the nori was eaten but it could have been my CUC last night.

Forgot to mention the correct one, garlic marine Omega One

I would only use garlic as a last resort, there are many studies out that have proven garlic is harmful to fish particularly their livers. What other fish are in the tank? Is the fish fighting to try and eat because other tank mates are more aggressive feeders? Usually fish that are in a tank with other peaceful fish that are eating will figure it out by watching the other fish eat when you feed. I'm assuming you didn't QT the fish

I was having a similar issue with my fish including a flame angel. they were eating fine in 20g QT then when moved to the 55g they weren't eating as well. I tried a few things but it just seemed like the food was getting lost in the tank and they weren't paying any attention to it.

So I turned the pumps offs (instead of just dialing down) and put some tank water in cup and dropped in 1 cube of frozen PE Mysis. I let it defrost and mixed it up. then when I feed I poured it in the tank, a bit in each location where the fish where. after a few times, they got it.... they now eat like piggys again.

I think that with a large tank, not heavily populated the small amounts of food aren't visual or scenting enough? When I defrosted a cube in the tank some would pick but even after it defrosted many weren't interested. defrosting and mixing it with water seems to have provided enough of a "slurry" that when its poured into the tank it is more noticeable? or perhaps it's more life-like when poured in as the shrimp appear to be moving? either way it worked for me and after a few days they are also eating pellets again.

Something magical happened today! At feeding time I came two a tank with all members out and about looking for food! Guess who took part in eating some of my homemade food and brine? The eibli! It was weird after the 3rd day of having my lights on a timer and all inhabitants 4th day they were all in sync with feeding. Really just an awesome beginner thing to see. Although my lawnmower blenny attacked a hermit crab and I think it is dead.

Good news on the angel eating.
