Feeding Juv. Clowns

I recently bought 2 juvenile Oscellaris Clowns. They are my first fish so I dont want to screw them up. The bigger of the two might almost be 3/4 of inch the other 1/2 long. My LFS told me to take one flake a day and break it up and give it to them.

Everytime I go near the tank they swim up to the spot I have been feeding them like they are hungry.

So how much should I feed them>??

You can get away with overfeeding if you have a really good skimmer. I have a skimmer rated at twice the size of my tank and a low bio-load so I feed my fish generously with no problems.

They are in a 10 gal quarantine tank for the next few weeks. My 30 gal reef is in the final stages of cycling, and got the fish setup in a quarantine so they would be ready to move in to the 30 when it was done.

But I might just turn the 10 in to a fish only tank for the two of them. Not sure yet.

Assuming your tank is fully cycled you can feed them a lot more than that. Use water changes, lots of LR and a good skimmer to keep up with the bioload. Feed them as much as they'll eat for 5 minutes. I usually do this 3 times a day, but I spoil my clowns. 2 good solid feedings per day are adequate. Also, take the flake food and pinch it between your finger and thumb then submerge your fingers and release the food underwater. That way it won't float on top of the water and it will be better for the fish to take it directly out of the water column.
