Feeding Mushrooms

I'm curious to see how many people feed their mushrooms. I'd like to start feeding a ricordea that I have, but it doesn't hold onto the food. I've also tried it with some greenstripped, and hairy shrooms, but they don't seem to hold onto the food. Do you turn the pumps off when you feed them?

Thanks

i've only fed the hairy ones.. the others don't need.
yea i have the pumps off. it works when they actually close up so the fish can't steal the food

I turn my pumps off and use a needleless syringe to blow frozen mysis or brine a couple of times a week on my hairy mushrooms and ricordia. the mushrooms will totally close up on it forming a bubble and the ricordia close up some what to ingest the food.

I've found that ALL of my shrooms LOVE flake food. Primereef to be exact. I don't turn of the pumps, but as soon as I squirt the food on them, they close up and eat it. I have found though that my green stripe and purple/green pimple ones do not eat as often as my blues, reds, rics, and hairys. They just won't close over the food or let it stick to them, so I just blow it off of them and away for the fish. Only my hairys and my rics will eat other foods like brine and cyclop-eeze.

fwiw, and hth,
