Feeding RBTA! HALP!

I started feeding my RBTA silversides twice a week a couple weeks ago. Recently, my anemone has begun to look below par. I stopped feeding it silversides and went back to spot feeding it mysis shrimp every other day. It looks fine now, but not the same since a couple weeks ago. To be honest, I really dont know what the best food is for an RBTA. What should I be feeding it? How often? At feeding time, how much? Its currently under 70watt MH lighting....HELP! Please try to be as specific as possible...thanks !

How big is your RBTA? I feed my nems silversides but you want to be carefull your not giving him to big of a piece.

Its about that the size of my hand (palm would be the estimated disk radius, fingers would be equivalent to the arms). I WAS feeding it silversides, but I think that was the problem. So...HALP!

I feed mine SMALL pieces of lots of different meaty foods - shrimp, krill, silversides, squid, etc. By small, I mean 1/4 to 1/3-inch chunks. Cutting up silversides is no fun, but less chance that the anemone will be spit out when I'm not looking. I also give them mysis when I'm feeding it to the fish.

I buy the silversides, thaw, rinse and then chop into very small pieces and then freeze in portions. My anemones did not eat them when they were in bigger chunks. You'd be surprised at the difference in how well they eat when the pieces are small. MY QUESTION IS: WHAT IS THE MOST NUTRITIOUS FOOD FOR THEM. Are the silversides the most beneficial for them? Thanks,

When you say it's under 70w MH I am guessing it's in the 12g mini-reef you have in your sig.

The Nems will poop out some massive stuff after eating and will easily make parameters in the 12g go bad. So with that in mind make sure you have what it takes to keep the water clean with the nem in there.

its been fine for 7 months. its back to normal under the 70 watt. in fact, it looks better than before. can some one please tell me how often to feed my RBTA.

I have always heard from my LFS and reading various books, that once a week is fine for most nems, they get more thn you think when you feed your fish.

Some feed theirs once a week or once every two weeks. If you feed more than once a week your rbta will out grow a 12 gallon in about 6 months. They can grow to 12 to 14 inchs across.
