According to just about everything I've read adult brine shrimp have almost no nutritional value. I'd go with either baby brine shrimp or go with mysis shrimp. Rics (along with just about every other critter in the tank) also seem to like cyclop-eeze.
I use tweezers to feed mysis with the powerheads off. Rics are very slow eaters and some don't have a strong feeding response and don't wrap around their food real well.
I feed mine shrimp from my local grocery store and have done so for years. I have fed both raw and cooked. I cut them into pieces and freeze them and when feeding time comes, I thaw them and feed
Depends on what kind of filtration you have I suppose. If you have skimmer rated for larger than your tank you can probably get away with feeding them a couple mysis each every day, but if you dont and you rely on water changes and macro algae like I do then once a week is pushing it.
