feeding routine

I have recently began keeping SPS and love that they help complete the reef look to my tank. What I am curious is to what feeding routines are being used with sucess. I have started using Reef roids as a suggestion from my LFS and Ive tried taget feeding and also dosing the tank with the return off and the pumps going so that it spreads around. I dont have a problem using other products in a rotation or other methods. My dog doesnt like the same food over and over I would imagine corals and fish do not either.

Thanks for any suggestions

Love reef roids, feed a hour after lights go out. Keep a eye on nutrients, it may take some time for your tank to be able to break down excess nutrients from reef roids. You do not really have to feed coral anything else.

You can spot feed your lps with most type of pellets. That sounds easy enough.

I like to feed my sps Reef Nutition Oyster Feast, Roti Feast, Coral Frenzy and Reef Chili. I usually feed or two of those once or twice a week. I have noticed better color and growth with feeding.

I was dumping in during the day. Will have to try at night makes sense they all look open and hungry with the lights off

As you and I know but just a reminder. Your tank will have to build up extra bacteria to accomodate the extra food. Careful not to pollute your tank. I generally measure the health of my tank by the pe on all corals at night. It should be big, all lps open and acros with entire head with full pe. Your tank will really benefit from the feedings. I would consider using some zeo food and bac.

It also really helps if you do not have a sand bed full of nutrients.
